Hi, I’m Jessica, and I love teaching kids to ski! If you’re here, your child probably had me as a ski instructor, or we somehow ran into each other on the mountain. Either way, I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope that the articles and resources that I’ve listed below help empower you to ski more with your kids and that I can help make the whole process easier for you.
About Me: I grew up in a ski-obsessed family. Some of my earlier memories were taking ski trips with my entire extended family and skiing with my siblings, parents, grandparents, and 20+ cousins. In my young mind, skiing was synonymous with FUN! My husband and I actually met on a chairlift (thank you singles line!) and we’ve been skiing together ever since.
We have 5 kids ranging from 7-17 and they all love to ski, which is one of the best things as a parent! My husband and I both taught skiing in college and couldn’t wait to get our kids on skis, so most of them started skiing around 18 months. We love living in Utah and exploring the mountains all around us. When we’re not skiing, we’re biking or hiking, and our whole family is happiest when we’re outside and active.
When I’m not teaching ski school, I’m teaching other parents about how to make their family adventures easier and better. I’ve been blogging at Adventure Travel Family for 15 years and started Skiing Kids 4 years ago. On my sites, you’ll find all sorts of tips and tricks to help you be active and get out on outdoor adventures with your own kids, as well as lots of gear reviews where we’ve tested the top outdoor gear for kids. I hope all of the resources that I’ve created help you to enjoy the outdoors more with your family!
